“It was really just the amount of time that we were spending talking about it amongst ourselves in conference rooms instead of actually going out and doing our day jobs. There became a point where our day jobs just became completely unpalatable. And it’s not Microsoft’s fault. I think a lot of people assume, “Oh, you got acquired by Microsoft, and so you hated it, and you had to go.” No, it wasn’t that at all. It was more that we were just obsessed with this one particular thing and wanted to go do it.”
