“Like a lot of things in life, I got lucky. I was bringing in wines from Spain, Portugal, and places that have low price-point wines. This was right around when the recession was starting to loom. I think people were looking for a
0 bottle of wine as opposed to a $50. We became successful, and the brands that I had in my book were taken off. It was a wonderful experience, and to have success at a young age is confidence-building and inducing. I knew it was preparing me to come and take over my family business, which, in the back of my mind, was a goal for a long time.”
