“You know it’s really fascinating when you think of it from a product’s standpoint how much faster you could do it today. Back then, there was no base of technology that people were building off of. I think the reality is, 1) There was a period of time when everybody was excited about everything. 2) What we were doing got a lot of traction very quickly, and it was super strategic to eBay at the time. So there were a lot of reasons why it was the right idea, right time, right place. To eBay’s credit, they were very thoughtful and quick to pull the trigger on things that they believed strategic.”
