“I think the piece that really came through was ownership of the venture that everything begins and ends with you, and no matter who you hire and no matter who is responsible for whatever task, if the task and the responsibility aren’t being satisfied, all of it falls on your shoulders. It behooves you not only to be aware of all the things that are going on but also to be proactive and understanding things so that those are avoided. The key isn’t to respond; the key is to prevent. So there’s a lot of planning and thoughtfulness that goes into it. I think that’s probably the piece that I took all the way through from the beginning until now.”
