“We thought that we had built a much better credit card comparison tool and eventually comparison tools for every financial product. But no one was writing about us. No one knew we existed. First of all, I didn't know how to pitch a reporter. I didn't know how to talk to them. I didn't know what they cared about, what they were thinking about day to day in terms of doing their job or making their lives easier. So, I had to learn a lot of these things by talking to friends who are in the industry or eventually doing it myself and learning by trial and error.”
