“Fluid Trade was cool. After we sold Macgregor, I started a little consulting group. For a minute, I was doing that. I had this idea. I was renting space from my co-founder, and I called him one night, and I said, “You’re not going to believe this. They trade like $9 billion a year in delinquent credit card debt using Excel spreadsheets, and you have all these sophisticated buyers buying off of spreadsheets.” I said, “We should create a marketplace that uses technology as the underpinning for people to bid, buy, have it secure.” And that was the seed that started that company.”
