A single-purpose entity that bundles many small investors into one line on the cap table.
Instead of adding 40 individual $5K angels to your cap table, they invest through a single SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) — sometimes called an RUV on AngelList. The startup sees one investor; the SPV manages the underlying investors.
RUVs keep the cap table clean, simplify future rounds, and give small angels access. Fees are usually paid by the SPV members, not the startup.
