Tracy Gray is the Founder and Managing Partner of The 22 Fund, an Los Angeles-based impact investment firm she established to support women and minority-owned businesses in green technologies and manufacturing. Her investment thesis targets early-growth, tech-driven manufacturing companies in the United States with a focus on increasing their export capacity and creating clean jobs in low-to-moderate-income communities. The firm intentionally prioritizes firms led by women and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), particularly Black, Indigenous, and women of color (BIWOC). Gray invests in mainly cash-flow-positive, existing businesses rather than adhering to traditional Series A–E funding classifications, aiming to mitigate risk while delivering high ROI and social impact. Notable portfolio companies include Sienna Naturals, Re-Nuble, Repurpose, and OpConnect. A distinctive point of view Gray champions is that there should be no tradeoff between financial returns and impact, a strategy she developed to grow generational wealth for women and people of color while advancing climate tech manufacturing. She is also a Forbes 50 Over 50 recipient
