Anne Boden is the founder and CEO of Starling Bank, an app-only bank she founded eight years ago. Starling Bank, which offers an online banking platform built around customer needs, achieved unicorn status with a £1.1 billion pre-money valuation after a Series D round in March 2021. Boden, a computer scientist and 30-year banking industry veteran, bootstrapped the company initially and has overseen its growth to over 1,750 employees, with operations expanding into Europe.
