Julie Sloat was named president and chief financial officer of American Electric Power (AEP) in August 2022, becoming CEO effective January 2023. AEP provides electricity to 5.5 million customers. Sloat joined AEP in 2021 as executive vice president and chief financial officer, where she was responsible for accounting and tax, treasury and risk, corporate planning and budgeting, and investor relations.
