Eran Davidson is the Managing Partner of Davidson Technology Growth Debt Fund, a venture debt firm he founded in 2014 to provide credit financing to mid-late stage technology companies in Europe, with a primary focus on Germany. His investment thesis targets European tech startups that are typically three to four years old, possess positive cash flow, and generate around €20 million in annual revenue. The fund offers growth debt loans with maturities between 18 and 36 months, typically ranging from €2 million to €5 million per deal. Davidson personally leads investments rather than following, having executed over 120 deals across Europe, the US, and Israel with more than $1 billion in exits. Notable portfolio companies include WeFox and SoundCloud, which received venture debt from his first German fund, as well as Delivery Hero and RIB Software from his earlier Hasso Plattner Ventures period. A distinctive point of view Davidson promotes is that venture debt allows companies to finance growth through revenue-backed loans instead of diluting equity with new rounds, offering industry-standard IRRs around 12%.
