Jeff Rusinow is a retired veteran angel investor from Milwaukee who founded Silicon Pastures, Milwaukee’s first angel network, after spending 22 years in retail management at Macy’s, Gimbel’s, and Kohl’s Department Stores. He invests primarily in Wisconsin-based companies at the pre-seed and seed stages, with a thesis emphasizing active involvement and the expectation that at least one in ten investments yields a 10x return or greater. Rusinow has made roughly 45 to 60 angel investments, often serving as a lead investor and chairman in successful ventures, with check sizes spanning seed to early series rounds. His notable portfolio includes Propeller Health, BuyCostumes.com, Wantable, Inc., and Medicardia Health, the latter of which he seeded before becoming its chairman. He authored the book “What I Really Think: The Business Chapters,” a handbook for angel investing, and maintains a public view that diversification across asset classes is critical to investment strategy. Rusinow was inducted into the Wisconsin Investor Hall of Fame and serves on the investment committee of the Wisconsin Super Angel Fund.
