Miguel Granier is the Founder and Managing Director of Invested Development, a Boston-based impact investment management firm, and previously served as the founding Investment Manager for First Light Ventures. His investment thesis targets seed-stage, for-profit social enterprises in mobile technology and alternative energy that address poverty in underserved and emerging markets, with a focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, India, and Latin America. The firm’s BSP Fund closed at $20 million to support innovative technology startups in these under-served markets. Notable portfolio companies where Granier has held board positions include Simpa Networks (acquired by Engie), OnFarm (acquired by SWIIM Systems), BRCK, and iHub, where he serves as Executive Chair. He is currently also the Managing Director at the Cox Cleantech Accelerator in Atlanta, helping build the cleantech startup ecosystem in the Southeast. Granier’s public work includes presenting at Harvard i-lab on identifying markets for social ventures and speaking at the Africa Tech Summit on impact investing.
