He also personally oversees the company's corporate venture arm, Takeda Digital Ventures, and is involved in investment decisions. He has led Takeda for over a decade, notably steering its $62 billion acquisition of Shire Pharmaceuticals in 2019. Weber is slated to step down as CEO next year.
