Heyward Donigan is a seasoned healthcare CEO and board member, known for her track record of profitable growth with both public and private companies. She was appointed Rite Aid’s president and chief executive officer in August 2019, leading the company through a major brand, merchandise, and technology transformation, debt reduction/refinancing, and the pandemic. Before Rite Aid, Donigan was CEO of Sapphire Digital, an omnichannel platform for healthcare provider selection, and prior to that, CEO of ValueOptions, a behavioral health improvement company. She also held executive roles at Premera Blue Cross, Cigna Healthcare, General Electric, Empire BCBS, and U.S. Healthcare.
