Jean-François Baril is the CEO, Co-Founder, and Chairman of HMD Global, a Finnish company he has guided to become Europe’s largest smartphone manufacturer and the producer of Nokia phones since its founding in 2016. He began his career in 1981 as a Research Engineer after earning degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers in Paris and Stanford University. He previously held positions at Schlumberger, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq, and Nokia.
