Jianwei Dong, Ph.D. is the CEO of SK Siltron CSS, a global leader in manufacturing silicon carbide (SiC) wafers. SK Siltron CSS produces SiC wafers used in power electronics for electric vehicles, enabling faster charging and extended driving range. The company secured a conditional commitment for a loan of up to $544 million from the U.S. Department of Energy to expand its manufacturing capacity in Michigan. SK Siltron acquired DuPont’s Compound Semiconductor Solutions business in March 2020, and SK Siltron CSS has since rapidly expanded its production capacity.
