Monty Watson has over 45 years of experience in the banking industry, having served as CEO of three different banks and navigating numerous mergers and acquisitions. Most recently, he became the Regional President for Georgia operations at United Bankshares, following United Bankshares' acquisition of Piedmont Bancorp, Inc., the parent company of The Piedmont Bank, in January 2025. He began his career at Citizens & Southern Bank while attending the University of Georgia, where he studied finance.
