About Morris Young

Morris S. Young Ph.D. co-founded AXT Inc. in 1986, a company where he has served in various leadership roles including CEO and Chairman of the Board. He was initially president and chief executive officer from 1989 to May 2004, then chief technology officer until his retirement in 2006. He rejoined as CEO in July 2009 and as Chairman of the Board in August 2021. Prior to AXT, Dr. Young was a physicist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
