Richard Gelfond is the CEO of IMAX Corp., a Canadian company that specializes in creating and converting films for large, curved screens with proprietary camera and sound technology. He purchased IMAX in a leveraged buyout in 1994 with business partner Brad Wechsler, and they took it public a few months later. Prior to IMAX, Gelfond worked in law, investment banking, and founded Clean Street USA, a chain of dry-cleaning stores.
