David Tse is a Stanford University engineering professor and information theorist who co-founded Babylon (formerly BabylonChain/Byzantine Research Inc.) in early 2021 to develop a Bitcoin staking protocol enabling self-custodial collateralization. He built the company with cryptography expert Fisher Yu to extend Bitcoin's security to other decentralized networks without modifying Bitcoin's underlying protocol. Tse is recognized as a prominent builder in the Bitcoin staking and security-sharing segment of the crypto market.
