James Dondero is the founder and principal of NexPoint, an alternative investment group specializing in real estate ventures. He is also the portfolio manager of NexPoint’s Merger Arbitrage Fund, Event Driven Fund, and Climate Tech Fund, and holds officer and director roles across NexPoint’s publicly traded REITs. Dondero formed NexPoint in 2012 with the aim of bringing alternative strategies to retail channels, building on his prior experience co-founding Highland Capital Management in 1993, a credit-focused investment firm.
