Marcel Verbaas is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Xenia Hotels & Resorts, Inc., a self-advised and self-administered REIT that invests in premium full-service and lifestyle hotels primarily in the top U.S. lodging markets. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Xenia or its affiliated entities from 2007 until November 2017, guiding the company through its spin-off and NYSE listing in February 2015. Under his leadership, the company has refined its portfolio through capital improvements and over $1.6 billion in acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to Xenia, he held senior investment roles at CNL Hotels & Resorts, Inc. and CNL Retirement Corporation.
