Prathap Reddy, chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, will raise INR 550 crore from Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) to repay promoter's debt and to build new hospitals. KKR will subscribe to the convertible debentures issued by Prathap Reddy's holding company, PCR Investments. This investment could lead KKR to own between 4% and 5% of the hospital chain if debentures are converted to equity shares.
