William Lauder is the executive chairman of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc., a multinational cosmetics company founded in 1946 by his grandmother, Estee Lauder. He joined the company in 1986 as a regional marketing director for Clinique and became CEO in 2004, a position he held until becoming chairman of the board in 2009. His family controls 84% of the company's voting power.
