NC IDEA advances entrepreneurship in North Carolina by empowering North Carolinians to achieve their entrepreneurial potential. Since 2006, it has awarded over $26 million in grants to companies and partners throughout the state, supporting equitable economic development. NC IDEA focuses on providing opportunity for all entrepreneurs across various regions of North Carolina, including Western NC, Central Piedmont, Piedmont Triad, Research Triangle, Sandhills, Eastern NC, and Coastal NC. It also has a specific focus on elevating Black entrepreneurship through the NC Black Entrepreneurship Council.
