De la Rey Venter is the CEO of MidOcean Energy, an LNG company formed and managed by EIG. The company aims to build a diversified, resilient, long-life global LNG platform. MidOcean Energy announced an initial equity raise of over $1.2 billion in March 2026, with an additional $500 million commitment from Idemitsu Kosan and $790 million from new and existing investors. Venter joined EIG in 2022 after two decades with Shell, where his roles included Global Head of LNG.
