Howard Berman, Ph.D., is a biotechnology executive who co-founded Nicoya Health in 2020 to advance research by Dr. Stanley Appel on neurodegenerative diseases. He merged Nicoya Health with Coya Therapeutics in 2021 and served as Chairman and CEO until November 2024, when Arun Swaminathan, Ph.D., was installed as CEO. Berman resigned as Executive Chairman and board member effective April 1, 2026, following a planned board transition.
