Igor Smelyansky (MBA '05) is the head of Ukraine's national postal service, Ukrposhta. Ukrposhta is responsible for delivering essential services, including pension payments, across Ukraine. Smelyansky has led the company through the challenges of the war, overseeing the delivery of 87% of pensions by hand in March 2022 and opening 29 new physical and 500 new mobile branches. Before his current role, Smelyansky had an entrepreneurial background, starting with selling ice cream at 16, later opening a cafe, and then pursuing a career in mergers and acquisitions after earning degrees in accounting, law, and an MBA.
