Rishi Bal is the CEO of BharatGen, a non-profit foundational AI startup focused on creating sovereign AI for India. Prior to founding BharatGen, he worked at Google Research, Microsoft, and Carnegie Mellon University. BharatGen launched on June 2, 2024, and released its open-source 2.9-billion-parameter model called PARAM.
