Shinichiro Kai is the founder and CEO of FOLIO, an online brokerage firm in Japan. FOLIO is the first online brokerage firm to launch in Japan in 10 years and specializes in thematic investment platforms. The company, established in December 2015, has raised 9.1 billion yen in funding within two years of operation. Prior to founding FOLIO, Kai worked as an interest rate derivative trader at Goldman Sachs for five years and then as head of the algorithmic trading team and interest rate option trading team at BlackRock Capital for ten years.
