Samir Desai is the founder and ex-CEO of Funding Circle, a peer-to-peer (P2P) lending firm he founded in 2010. He stepped down as CEO after 11 years but remains a non-executive director on the firm's board. Funding Circle raised approximately $300 million in an IPO in 2018 at a valuation of around $1.65 billion. Desai recently raised $30 million for his new payments start-up, Super Payments, which aims to disrupt established payment networks.
