J. Joseph Kim is the co-founder, President, CEO, and Director of Inovio Pharmaceuticals, a late clinical-stage biotechnology company. Inovio Pharmaceuticals focuses on the discovery, development, and commercialization of DNA immunotherapies for cancer and infectious diseases. The company, which spun out of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, was co-founded by Kim and David B. Weiner in 2000. Before Inovio, Kim earned degrees from MIT, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Wharton School, and worked at Merck.
