He is a renowned economist and an authority on industrial organization, technological change, and innovation, particularly in relation to antitrust, competition policy, and intellectual property. Previously, he cofounded LECG in 1988, serving as chairman and vice chairman until 2009. He also holds a position as Professor of the Graduate School at the University of California, Berkeley.
