He was subsequently seconded to Willis Faber and Johnson & Higgins to help develop a new Joint Venture Reinsurance Intermediary. In 1988 he was appointed Director of Willis Faber & Dumas Ltd and Deputy Chairman of Durtnell & Fowler Ltd. Appointed as Group Managing Director of UK and North American Reinsurance Group in 1991, then made Strategy Director of Willis Faber & Dumas in July 1994. From 1995 until he retired he served on the Willis Group Executive Committee. He retired from Willis in March 2005.
