Steve Worland is the founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of eFFECTOR Therapeutics, which he established in 2012 to develop selective translation regulation inhibitors for cancer treatment. He led the company through its $45 million Series A financing in 2013 and its 2021 SPAC merger which valued the enterprise at $419 million. In June 2024, Worland announced the decision to wind down operations after raising approximately $325 million.
