David Mawson is transitioning to the role of Executive Chair at Placefirst in February 2026, marking the first stage of his planned retirement. He has served as CEO of Placefirst for almost six years, overseeing significant growth and positioning the business as a leading operator in the UK single-family BTR market. Under his leadership, Placefirst has built a nationwide portfolio and is on track to deliver and operate 10,000 homes. Matter Real Estate acquired a controlling stake in Placefirst in 2015.
